Your tour begins when your driver arrives to pick you up from your hotel. On the way to Auschwitz, watch a 45-minute documentary film, "The Liberation of Auschwitz," that will tell you about the concentration camp's tragic history. Upon arrival, meet your guide, who will accompany you on a 2-hour tour of Auschwitz. See numerous camp blocks, miles of barbed wire with warning signs, and the graves of Auschwitz's last victims. Learn about the Auschwitz story, including prisoner life and Nazi officers' cruel practices, from your guide.
Next, you will go to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, the extermination camp with the gas chambers. Despite German attempts to destroy Auschwitz-Birkenau, some original camp buildings or ruins have survived. On the 1.5-hour tour, view the long rows of inmate barracks as your guide recounts the tragic story of Birkenau. Following the tour, your driver will transport you to your Krakow hotel.
In Krakow’s Old Town, take a 1-hour evening walking tour led by a local guide. Begin at Plac Matejki Square and end at the Wawel Hill dragon sculpture. During this tour, you will see the highlights of Old Town and learn about the Krakow Market Square.
