This 4-hour salt mine tour lets you explore the 500-year-old salt mine in Berchtesgaden. Travel to the world underground and learn exciting and informative facts about the salt mine. En-route, you'll pass by the Alpenstraße, along the Königsseeache, and up to the Obersalzberg. When you reach the salt mine, you'll throw on your protective clothing and take the mine railway 650 meters into the mountain. Notice the impressive Salt Cathedral first, dedicated to Emperor Franz Josef I. The wooden slide transports you 34 meters down to the Stone Salt Grotto, named after King Ludwig II. Your tour includes a ride across Mirror Lake on a raft. While on this ride, you'll learn why this lake was given its name. Before your return to Salzburg, you have some time to explore the picturesque town of Berchtesgaden at your own leisure.
