For Downton Abbey fans, this tour of its iconic historical sites and filming locations is sure to be a dream come true! Guests have the unique opportunity to explore these amazing places that served as inspiration for this beloved television series. You will see several historical locations that were used in the show, such as the medieval village of Bampton and the Cogges Manor Farm Museum.
Oxford is home to the oldest and most prestigious university in the world as well as some of Europe's most beautiful buildings. The university's ivy-covered stone walls enclose picturesque chapels, halls, and libraries that serve as some of the university's most striking architectural features. Have lunch in a traditional English pub at one of Oxford's numerous historic inns, at your own pace.
Visit the church, Matthew Crawley's mother's house, the hospital, and the homes of present residents, which were changed into the Post office and numerous bars. The public library serves as a kind of "hospital," housing the Bampton Archive and hosting a number of rotating displays of local artwork in the Vesey room.
