Enjoy the unforgettable sights of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello on this guided tour of the Amalfi Coast. With a professional guide and round-trip transport to and from the center of Sorrento, you can be sure this will be a smooth and hassle-free experience.

The pretty seaside village of Positano

Experience the most beautiful views of the Amalfi coastline as you drive down on your guided day tour. Your guide will share informative facts and humorous anecdotes about the places you’ll visit and attractions you’ll see. As you pass by the coastline, you’ll see the ‘Sirenusas’, also known as the Gallos, an archipelago of little islands off the Amalfi Coast. Part of the Campanian Archipelago, this stunning sight has a dark backstory in Roman mythology being the island of sirens, luring sailors to their death!

On reaching Positano, take your time is getting to know the idyllic cliffside village. One of the major attractions of the village is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta. With its famous majolica-tiled dome in most pictures of Positano and a 13th-century Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary, this church is at the heart of the village’s religious, historical, and cultural epicenter. From the piazza in front of the church, enjoy the majestic facade of this medieval cathedral. You should also explore the local shops and boutiques and visit the popular beaches of Positano – such as the Marina Grande Beach.

UNESCO heritage site of Amalfi

During the 9th and 11th centuries, Amalfi town was the seat of a powerful maritime republic. Today, it is a UNESCO Heritage Site famous for its rich history, otherworldly scenic landscape, and fresh seafood cuisine. You’ll come across the Cathedral of Saint Andrews which stands grandly on a great flight of steps leading up from the Main Square. Its decorative façade signifies Byzantine art and architecture. Stroll around the town, soak up the seaside atmosphere, and visit any of the bustling beaches. Indulge in local desserts like the ‘Sfogliatella Santa Rosa’, a much-loved Campania pastry.

Ravello, a hidden gem

A town on the Amalfi Coast that is usually overlooked for the more popular location, Ravello has a lot of charms and unique attractions to offer. Known to inspire composers and musicians from all over the world, it was here in Villa Rufolo – a 13th-century villa with intricate gardens in the historic center of the town – where Richard Wagner was inspired to compose his famous opera ‘Parsifal.’ The villa affords you one-of-a-kind views of the sea and the coastline. Along with the guide, explore the little square of Ravello and its narrow streets.

After enjoying the town of Ravello, it’s time to depart back to Sorrento in the late afternoon.
