Your first stop after the pick-up is the oldest Byzantine church in Santorini, Panagia Episkopi. Built in 1115 from the ruins of a 6th-century church, its interiors are decorated with Byzantine paintings and hagiography. From here, make your way to Mesa Gonia, one of the most important centers of wine production of Santorini. This is the only village that wasn’t restored since the great earthquake of 1956 and will give you a unique opportunity to see how life was before this dramatic event.
Then, continue onwards to Pyrgos, one of the most picturesque villages on the island. This was once the capital of Santorini, and you will get to visit Skaros (the ruins of the medieval capital), stroll around the village and take photographs of its beautiful churches. Don't miss out on catching the stunning views of the island, once you reach the top! The last stop is Oia, a village located in the western part of the island. Oia is famous for its sunsets, maritime history, and perhaps more famously, its whitewashed houses that are carved into the rugged clifftops overlooking a vast caldera.
