Bonn's most beautiful residential area was built between 1850 and 1910. The quarter survived the World War almost unscathed, but the post-war period was initially characterized by decay and conflicts over the preservation of historical monuments. Nevertheless, with the southern part of the city, it was possible to preserve a closed area of Wilhelminian style building.
