Your Experience
As you step into the Arab Baths of Santa María, managed by Doble de Cepa Group on Velázquez Bosco Street, prepare to be transported back in time to the 12th century Caliphate era. These well-preserved baths, located near the Mosque, are a perfect representation of Hispano-Muslim architecture, despite their relatively small size. You will first enter the current vestibule, which was once the bait al-maslaj, or dressing room, leading to the warm-water room. Over time, the warm-water room has transformed into an open courtyard. Look around to appreciate the original galleries with their signature horseshoe arches, stuccoed and polychromed to imitate the voussoirs and hornet's nest capitals of the Caliphate period.
The bayt al-sajun, or hot room, featuring a barrel-vaulted ashlar vault punctured by rectangular skylights arranged haphazardly, retains its original hot and cold water basins. This unique historical setting serves as the venue for an unforgettable Flamenco show that Doble de Cepa invites you to experience. The Flamenco show is a journey that transports you back to the Caliphate era, immersing you in the rich culture and history of Andalusian Spain. The show is a fusion of traditional flamenco, authentic Andalusian gastronomy and historical exploration, creating a unique and unforgettable experience for all attendees.
