The story
Abe, a successful Brooklyn novelist, starts a secret email exchange with a movie star—an unexpected connection that deepens as his marriage to his wife, Sophie, quietly unravels. Decades earlier, in an Orthodox Jewish community, Schmuli and Esther build a life bound by tradition, duty, and silence. As both stories unfold, a deeper question emerges: can we ever truly escape the past we’re born into, or are we bound to repeat it in new forms?
