With guidance from local chefs, you’ll select the essential ingredients for the dishes you’ll be cooking. Afterward, head to an organic farm where you’ll witness sustainable farming practices firsthand, learning how the fresh, organic ingredients add a special touch to Balinese food.
Once you arrive at the cooking venue—a traditional Balinese kitchen or an open pavilion surrounded by lush greenery—you’ll begin your hands-on cooking experience. Guided by expert chefs, you’ll prepare either 5 or 8 dishes, depending on your class choice, including staples like satay, nasi goreng, and sambal. Each step brings you closer to the heart of Balinese cooking, as you blend, grind, and cook with locally sourced ingredients. Learn traditional techniques, from crafting spice pastes to cooking over an open flame, while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the farm setting.
