Your day in Athens unfolds with visits to its most famous landmarks: the Acropolis, Theater of Dionysus, and Ancient Agora. Guided by an expert, you'll explore 2500 years of history and culture.

Getting started

The journey begins at a designated meeting point near the Acropolis. After gathering your group, your guide introduces the site's significance before leading you through its historic wonders.

The Acropolis

This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to the Parthenon and other ancient structures that were central to Athenian life. Your guide shares stories about Athena, Poseidon's rivalry, and the architectural brilliance of landmarks like the Temple of Athena Nike.

Discover sites such as the Erechtheion with its Caryatid columns, pass through the Propylaea gateway for panoramic views, visit the ancient Theater of Dionysus where dramas were performed, and explore the Odeon of Herodes Atticus—a well-preserved amphitheater still in use today.

Acropolis Museum

The museum houses artifacts from the Parthenon and other structures. Highlights include the Parthenon Marbles and a restored Frieze that vividly illustrates Athenian life and traditions.

Ancient Agora

Your guide may take you to the Ancient Agora, once Athens' bustling hub of political, social, and commercial activity. Explore where philosophers like Socrates debated and citizens gathered for discussions.

Visit the Stoa of Attalos, now a museum showcasing artifacts from ancient Athenian life. The tour also includes seeing the well-preserved Temple of Hephaestus, dedicated to craftsmanship and metalworking.

Temple of Poseidon

If included in your tour choice, visit Cape Sounion's 2,400-year-old Temple of Poseidon with a guide. Learn about its mythological significance and enjoy stunning sunset views over the Aegean Sea.

Old Town

In private tours, explore Athens' Old Town as your guide shares stories of the city’s evolution while pointing out local tavernas, boutiques, and hidden gems.

Large bags and luggage are not permitted at the sites due to security restrictions. Pets are not allowed, except for service animals with the proper documentation.
