Attractions Introduction

The British Consulate Cultural Park in Takao, located in Gushan District, Kaohsiung City, consists of three sites: the consulate residence on the mountain, the consulate offices at the foot of the mountain, and a hiking trail. It was the first consulate built by the British government in Taiwan and the only consulate park in Taiwan to fully preserve the official residence and offices. It was upgraded to a national monument in 2019 by announcement of the Ministry of Culture.

Visit the Consulate Residence and witness the evolution of Taiwan's colonial-style architecture. The best time to visit is from afternoon to evening to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Closed hours

• The Historic Site Museum is closed on Wednesdays (if it is a national holiday, it will be open as usual)
