Nestled within one of Rome's most exquisite structures, the 16th-century Palazzo Capodiferro, the Spada Gallery is home to a significant collection of Baroque paintings from the 17th century. These works were amassed by Cardinals Bernardino and Fabrizio Spada. The gallery’s art pieces are displayed in overlapping rows reminiscent of a 17th-century picture gallery, giving it an unparalleled allure as a beloved family collection.
After exploring the first-floor museum exhibits, visitors will be guided to the Secret Garden. This garden is renowned for its most excellent Baroque creation in Rome: Francesco Borromini's illusionistic Colonnade (or Perspective), crafted in 1653 for Cardinal Bernardino Spada.
