The Museum of the Nanyue King (Royal Tomb Exhibition Area) is located at 867 Jiefang North Road. Formerly known as the Museum of the Nanyue King (Royal Tomb Exhibition Area), it was built on the original site of the tomb after its excavation in June 1983. The museum primarily displays the original site and unearthed artifacts. Compared to other museums, its highlight is the precious "Jade Burial Suit," the earliest complete jade burial suit discovered in China to date, making it well worth seeing. Also, the museum is built on the original tomb site, hence the inclusion of the Nanyue King (Royal Tomb Exhibition Area) within it. The museum's east side features a three-story comprehensive exhibition building, while the north side has a two-story main exhibition building. A surrounding corridor connects the three buildings into a unified whole. The museum has 10 exhibition halls, with permanent exhibitions including artifacts and porcelain pillows, and occasional special exhibitions. The main body of the museum is the cultural relics exhibition, which primarily displays artifacts unearthed from the tomb of Zhao Mo, King of Nanyue. More than 10,000 funerary objects were unearthed from the tomb. The exhibition is divided into five sections: Emperor Wen's Gold Seal, Treasures of the Main Chamber, Sacrificial Animals in the Tomb, Imperial Treasury Treasures, and Bells and Cauldrons. Among the funerary objects are numerous jade artifacts, such as a celadon jade horn cup, eleven sets of jade ornaments, and fifty-eight jade sword ornaments—all significant discoveries in Han Dynasty jade artifacts. Among the jade treasures are the "Jade Burial Suit with Silk Threads," the "High-Footed Cup with a Tray," and the "Dragon and Phoenix Pattern Jade Pendant." The Dragon and Phoenix Pattern Jade Pendant is a decorative jade artifact unearthed near the right eye of the tomb owner. Carved from celadon jade, the pendant is divided into inner and outer rings. The inner ring features a dragon in openwork carving, while the outer ring features a phoenix in openwork carving. Its shape and design have been selected as the emblem of the Museum of the King of Nanyue (King's Tomb Exhibition Area).
