Begin your adventure at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, where the timing and duration of your experience are flexible. As you board the world's largest rotating tramcars, prepare to ascend from the scorching floor of the Sonoran Desert, with temperatures often reaching 120 degrees Fahrenheit (48°C), to the refreshing alpine air at 8,516 feet (2,838 meters). The ride offers breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and Chino Canyon, passing through an arctic-alpine forest of towering Ponderosa pines.
Upon reaching the Mountain Station, explore its diverse facilities, including observation decks, a cocktail lounge, and dining options. Enjoy a short film detailing the tramway's construction before heading into the vast 14,000-acre (5,665-hectare) Mt. San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness Area.
